Firstly fantastic blogging going on here. Really useful. Please read Jovanas notes on the Gothic lecture which are essential reading, accurate and useful. Gudruns images are great...particularly like the one with many hat pins in headdress...notice how still the opera singer is. Prod meeting minutes are superb..thanks Zoe.

Set/Props: We were rushing a bit in the meeting because we had so much to cover. I felt I did not give enough time to set and props and would like to revisit this on Tuesday along with costume and make up. You had great ideas which we did not really get to grips with. (Can you make a note of this Rach)It was really useful to read the lists you blogged Heather. I really like the idea of candles in the walls..which can just come on in the castle bits..I'm thinking that maybe we can use the piano for a lot of things..and other things can be mysteriously brought on by Butler/Chauffeur. I'm worried about the many chairs we need for train...although I really like the work you did on the scene...maybe we need to re-think this???? kev, heather can you prepare again for Tuesdays meeting,...particularly repeat the stuff about dead women.

Marketing: I have done a lot of thinking about the publicity designs. Firstly I wanted to re-iterate how brilliant the work was you all did on this and I thought all the designs were of a very high quality. My favourite design is the mannequins, and my second the bloody plug. If you want I can explain why I don't favour the others. I think the mannequins have dignity and give a sense of the play without being cliched or giving anything away. They also stress the famaleness of the play which is important to me. Obviously more work needs to be done on the copy and I'd like to see it with different fonts. I like the plug because it makes me think of the mark on her head and the bloody key..and her inability to ever forget.. Please can everyone else give comments too.

Characters: I plan to do more character work next week...hence the images. BUT I really need you to do some work at home yourselves...do some real thinking about your character, re-read text and short story. Research (eg: Kev and Mikey and Johnny: marquis de Sade, Krish: blindness, Katia: vampires, etc.etc.) Come with some offerings!!!! We cannot wait any more!
