Ba-Ba-Mwah-Titti-La-Regah Forever xxx
I'm not sure that there are any words adequate enough to express how I feel right now, but I'll give it a go.
This whole experience has been extraordinary and, despite our ups and downs in the rehearsal process, I feel so incredibly blessed to have been a part of The Bloody Chamber. We all managed to create not just a fantastic end-of-degree show, but a phenomenal piece of theatre in its own right. I'm so sad that it's over, particularly because I think it's a real shame that it's not going to be seen by anyone else now - Bloody Chamber on tour, anyone??
My parents were blown away - they see a LOT of theatre and are very honest people, and they raved and raved about every aspect of the show: acting, lighting, directing, costumes (of course! My mum didn't even point out any faults!!), and the whole structure of the piece. They also said that every single performer worked their nads off from start to finish and it was obviously a product of hard work and passion(e)
Thank you everyone for this experience - I'll treasure it forever.
Now I'll stop banging on before I actually cry, and leave you with the few photos I took on my irritatingly pants camera. Please, everyone upload any photos they took!

Costume Malfunctions??
If anyone had any problems/breakages etc with their costume tonight please let one of us know in plenty of time before the next show.
All of us in Costume were SO proud of how gorgeous you all look - I hope you are pleased with the work we have done (even if it's not how you imagined it) and I want to thank you for being so understanding with us when we've lost the proverbial blob...
And a HUGE congratulations to all for the first show xxx

Notes from run
NOTES FROM RUN.
Great Tango (Judea and Ally + Gudrun and Jo keep bumping into each
Other) – try to sort)
Are Rachel’s shoes too big??
Scene 1:
Great opening Johnny and Mikey.
Scene one much better acting all round.
Did music come in a bit early for Tristan and Isolde?
Aimee take care not to over do the emotion. Especially when you are not talking...just be and do it internally don’t demonstrate.
Scenes 2, 4, 6:
This are so much improved.
Girls try to lean forward or sit on edges of chairs in all these scenes.
Train sound? Does it sound like a train?
Is Kevin getting a cigar for train scene?
Scene 3:
Much better all round. Well done.
Can music continue until ‘it is too much’
Scene 5:
All girls watch ring in scene 5.
Kev what you were doing is much better here - and now you do the same thing but out it instead of internalising it.Marry me tango - Kevin and Amie needs to hold centreKevin needs to speak up on ³It is a ring given to my grandmother...²
Cut tango music when Aimee and Kiev move to piano.Need to take labels off Kevin¹s shoes
Scene 7: Jovana and Amie should walk in together
Aimee and Jovana stand on an angle in mirror scene
Otherwise this scene works.
Johnny stay on but don’t go close to Jo until a bit later...
When do the dead women make noises? Let’s be clear and confident about this.
Rach can you come on and stand on other side…nearer the door you enter from…
Girls on edge can you sit down earlier after scene 7 so you are not in the way of the car/piano in scene 8.
Now the piano has moved earlier the hug at end of scene 7 can be a bit quicker..Remember that the mum and daughter are uncomfortable about each other.
Scene 8
Johnny make sure you turn out on descriptions… Kevin, close your legs when sit on car
Scene 9
All servants, but particularly Jaz make sure you do something to her on each turn of the castle..make it interesting and focused. Jonnie and Jovana rehearse tango bit and change if you are uncomfortable with ti but make it slick.Kevin needs to spin Jovana on Harem because it is a queue for the other girls to come in and they spin too.Johnny make sure when you slap Jo you enjoy it and are not disgusted by it.
Kev – leave a longer pause after the leg closing.
Johnny slower and clearer and more images on the line about the gulls.
Scene 10
Zoe do not touch books. It is stronger if you don¹t
Sex good.Jasmine don¹t drop character¹s physicality too early on your exits
Scene 11:
Maybe second kiss after phone call is gentler Kev??
Scene 12:
Keys section. Kev make sure you do not stay still for too long on this as you block some audience.
There was one key left..really take time. Girls seating in audience reaching for the last keyScene 13,Scene 14
Jasmine be more mumbly with your improvised talking in this scene. Jo don’t sigh to o much. Keep it angry.
Krish take a bit longer over the piano tuning. Get on jasmines nerves. And try to get your feet under the piano more than playing. You can leave piano open once its tuned so Jo doesn’t need to open it again. Jo really try to beat Jaz all the time at the moment she’s winning.
Krish much better - make sure you laugh with La Marquies.
Scene 15:
Scene 16
Pauses are a bit long on the phone Jo.
Scene 17
Jaz you need to speak quicker after occupy yourself to draw focus to yourself or was it Johnny forgetting keys to everything?
Men when you take the tables and chairs off after letter scenes make sure you are still acting.
Scene 18:
Judea do never come down the platform
Scene 19:
Krish – listen is referring to the sea not the arrival of the car..the sea changing means the car can get across.
Ally really realise that you are bad..that is a point of real realisation and a very important moment. Make sure it is felt and slow and paused after ward.
Scene 20Mum and marquis tango is brilliant. However: Kevin too much stomping – flamenco rather than tango). Now it is too sexy and it is loosing a little the tension you had before. Dance as close as you like but never touch each other. It is stronger if you don¹t
Kev don’t feel like you are making the connection between her being cold and the bloody chamber - take more time over it.
Krish much better in this scene.
Jenny really think about what you are talking about in the clump with girls. Ask me or Thomas about this.
Kev keep your distance from Jenny …Kevin be careful not to touch anything with your sword Kev..you put it on your head for a bit.
Krish should be more cuddly than Jenny..jenny is about to die so distracted and jean Ives needs her more that she needs him.
Pre-figure your flirtation in the red choker scene Rachel and Kev.
Heather scream and run and sing. Be angry on song until last verse
We need to think about Rachels costume change. Maybe she doesn’t take jacket off? Or gives it to Heather? Mustn’t put gun down.
Scene 21:
Bloody women when they come on must be ‘crying for, looking for’
Couple of notes form Jovana which I like:
Scene 3 (big gifts) - i think part of the reason why it's not quite working at themoment is cos of the way some of the lines are delivered especially the reaction the mother gets when she orders all things to be sent back... i think the girl should be trying to get her mother's approval and plead more to establish that the mother ultimately has the power, so that the girl's objective is to convince her mother rather than act stubborn. TRY IT AIMEE scene 7 - i think we need to work on finding more set movements in the mirroring to get the first part of the scene looking tidy. GET TOGETHER TO WORK THIS OUT
INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
Krish: so much improved. Keep thinking Arrogant and Ambitious and like the Marquis even when not talking..listen with this in mind.
Rach : Great still..but this time I felt you were demonstrating a bit too much.
Heather: you were ill so not notes.
Aimee: your big speech is lovely. Mostly good but sometimes you over demonstrate what you are feeling instead of just being. Be more nervous about touching Kev..maybe don’t touch him unless he touches you.
Jovana: Good Really think about detail and keep focus after your scene.
Zoe: Much better - keep working on the idea that you want to be married, you want to have sex and you want to grow up.
Jo: Much better but keep remembering your new found confidence because of having had sex….you can try to dominate everyone.
Allie: No notes because of illness.
Jenny: Great energy and focus but really work on details. Check you understand everything.
Kev: I thought this one was much better – we will spend an hour together tomorrow.
Jasmine: Still great. Keep surprising us.
Judea: Good words: you need to focus on your movement on exploring using your platform and frame.
Catia: Great this time. Make sure you don’t push try to relax and enjoy.
Gudrun: major improvement getting better and better.
